The Deputy Prime Minister accelerated the equitization of shipping enterprises

Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has just given directions on solutions to overcome difficulties and support shipping businesses.

The Deputy Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Transport to proactively implement solutions within its competence, including giving priority to reviewing and proposing amendments and supplements to legal documents guiding the implementation of the Vietnam Maritime Code. in 2015; reviewing and adjusting strategies and planning schemes for the development of the maritime industry to 2030, ensuring the satisfaction of socio-economic development conditions up to 2030 and orientations after 2030, with special focus on urgently undertaking the implementation of the master plan for national seaport system development in accordance with the Prime Minister’s regulations in Decision No. 955 dated August 9, 2018.

The Ministry of Transport shall assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with concerned ministries and branches in, continuing to review and minimize administrative procedures and business conditions for sea transport services.

Continue to coordinate with the Ministry of Planning and Investment, the Ministry of Finance, the State Capital Management Committee in enterprises and relevant agencies to guide enterprises to use investment capital sources for fleet development; to speed up the equitization process, strengthen joint ventures and linkages with domestic and foreign partners to diversify capital sources, and increase the efficiency of Vietnam’s marine transport development investment.

The Deputy Prime Minister also assigned the Ministry of Finance to assume the prime responsibility for, and coordinate with concerned ministries and branches in, studying and reviewing proposals related to tax and fee policies of the Ministry of Transport. On that basis, the report proposes the Prime Minister to consider exempting or reducing the costs of enterprises (taxes, fees, prices …) under the authority of the Government and the Prime Minister to assist shipping enterprises in development. human resources, production and business activities in the current period.

With regard to the contents within the authority of the National Assembly, the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, the Ministry of Finance synthesizes and studies in the process of reviewing the revised draft Law on corporate income tax and amended personal income tax change.
